This planter is sized to minimise wood waste so the width is half the size of a pallet (so I can use a pallet plank cut in two), the height is two pallet planks, and the depth is a quarter of a pallet plank. The base is made from reclaimed roof battens and the lining is a cut-down compost bag. The planks are joined together with biscuit joints and glue, and then cut at a 7-degree angle to make a nice tapered shape.
They have a rustic look!
Making the first planter took about 2 hours, but then I made another one and it took about an hour. It helped to have a selection of screws and bits of wood to hand, and a chop saw which makes everything a lot quicker.
