Our allotment had a homemade polytunnel on it, built about 8 years ago, which was leaning precariously into the neighbours’ plot, who had complained that it was unsightly – which was fair tbh. We decided to deconstruct it, save what we could, and build a new greenhouse from scratch with the bits that were still serviceable.
The footprint went from 6m x 2.5m to 4m x 2m, but we lost hardly any growing space (due to previously wasted space). We added a door at the back, a window and functional guttering, and managed to save the front door. The only things we had to buy were some screws, some washers, and some guttering fittings.
